Logical thinkers are analytical. They gather relevant data, evaluate it and use it to form conclusions. Logical thinkers do not rely on intuition. They employ a scientific, unbiased approach to their work. People who have strong logical thinking skills will excel when performing duties that incorporate these skills, such as the careers explored here.

Lawyers are, of course, legal experts who are qualified to advise clients on legal matters. They are also able to present legal arguments in court. Lawyers spend a lot of time gathering information relevant to their client’s needs, scrutinizing legal precedents and using that data to advise their client on how to proceed. They may ultimately use the information gleaned through their research and analysis to negotiate a settlement, file legal documents or argue the case in court. There are several different fields lawyers can specialize in.

To become a lawyer you will need to complete a bachelor’s degree and then graduate from law school. It normally takes seven years of postsecondary study to earn a bachelor’s degree and a law degree. You may also opt to earn certificate programs that focus on specific areas of law. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) expects opportunities for lawyers to grow at a rate of 6% through 2028. Salary.com reported that lawyers earned an average annual salary of $164,148 as of February 2020. Salaries vary based on the field of law practiced. Some lawyers earn $245,112 per year.

A medical doctor is a healthcare professional. Doctors evaluate patients, order tests and use the data to diagnose their patients. They rely on their analytical skills to evaluate all of the information they are presented with and compare this with their knowledge of medical conditions. Some doctors opt to specialize in different fields of medicine.

Specialists spend their careers treating people with illnesses or conditions covered in their specialty. Whether a doctor is a general practitioner or a highly trained specialist, they still rely on the same analytical skills to evaluate patients and determine the correct diagnosis and best course of treatment.

Medical doctors need to earn a bachelor’s degree, which normally takes four years. They must also complete medical school, which also takes four years. The final phase of preparation involves completing internship and residency requirements, which take anywhere from three to seven years.

The BLS reports that doctors are expected to see job growth of 7% between 2018 and 2028. As of February 2020, the average income for a medical doctor in the U.S. was $247,303 per year. The highest-paid doctors earned as much as $445,817. Salaries can be affected by the doctor’s specialty and work location.

The scoliosis doctors specialize in treating patients who have curved spines. They explore a range of treatment options for their patients and use a holistic approach to treatment. These medical specialists treat adults and children with scoliosis.

Logisticians use their analytical skills to evaluate a company’s product delivery process. They gather data related to every single step their company takes to deliver a product to customers. This could begin with manufacturing the product or it may begin with acquiring the product from a wholesaler. They follow the delivery systems in place until the product reaches retailers or consumers. They use their analytical skills to evaluate the processes in place and determine if they should be altered to improve efficiency or reduce costs.

Some logisticians are able to begin their careers after they have earned an associate’s degree, but most logisticians are required to have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business. They may opt to earn certification in their field to increase their career prospects.

Logisticians need strong analytical skills to be able to evaluate the delivery systems in place and determine how to improve them. The BLS expects logisticians to see job growth of 5% from 2018 to 2028. The BLS also reported that as of 2018, the median annual salary for logisticians was $74,600, although some logisticians earned $119,950 per year or more.

Logisticians may specialize in the manufacturing sector. These professionals will concentrate on the process of acquiring resources needed to make products and how these items are transported and stored before being used.
